Glossary

TLS

TLS is the protocol that encrypts and authenticates connections on the internet — the one that turns HTTP into HTTPS. It guarantees the connection reaches the right server and that nobody can listen in.

Ubidesk accepts only TLS 1.3: earlier versions are refused and there is no plaintext fallback. All connections, console, agents and clients, go through port 443.

In practice

Behind a restrictive firewall, a deployment only needs HTTPS outbound on port 443: no other port is opened.

TLS

The protocol that encrypts and authenticates connections; Ubidesk accepts only TLS 1.3, with no downgrade.
