Wake-on-LAN
Wake-on-LAN is a feature that wakes a switched-off or sleeping machine by sending it a special network packet. Once it boots, the agent can reach it again.
In Ubidesk, the wake-up is triggered from the console. Two conditions apply: the feature must be enabled in the BIOS and on the network adapter, and a relay must be able to send the packet on the same subnet — typically another Ubidesk device.
In practice
On laptops, Wake-on-LAN is often disabled by default: check the BIOS before relying on it.
