Getting started with Ubidesk
What Ubidesk does
Ubidesk is a remote-support and remote-access platform. It covers three main use cases:
- attended sessions, where a technician takes control of a user’s computer while the user is present;
- unattended access, for administering machines with no one in front of the screen;
- device management, for tracking installed agents and waking powered-off machines with Wake-on-LAN.
All connections go through port 443 over TLS 1.3. No inbound ports need to be opened on the customer network. The cryptographic detail is covered in Security model and encryption.
Create your workspace
- Open the sign-up form and enter the workspace owner’s email address.
- Pick a plan: Personal, Solo or Pro. Personal is free for up to 3 devices; Solo costs 12 EUR per month for 50 devices; from Pro up, the device count is unlimited at 24 EUR per technician per month. The full grid is on the Pricing page.
- On first sign-in, enrolling a second factor is mandatory. Ubidesk accepts TOTP codes, passkeys and FIDO2 security keys.
MFA cannot be turned off. It is a platform requirement, not an account option.
What to know before your first session
- The client the user downloads is temporary and requires no installation: nothing remains on the machine after the session.
- Users join with a 6-digit code that is single-use.
- No file transfer starts without explicit user confirmation.
- Sessions can be displayed at up to 4K at 60 fps.
- Every session is recorded in a hash-chained audit log.
Run a first attended session
- In the console, create an attended session. The platform generates a 6-digit code, valid once.
- Give the code to the user by phone or chat.
- The user enters it on the Join a session page or in the client.
- The user downloads a temporary client. It runs for the duration of the session, then closes without leaving anything on the machine.
- The session opens as soon as the user accepts remote control. The user can take back control or end the session at any time.
The full flow is described in Attended sessions: how they work.
What each plan includes

How billing works
Personal and Solo are flat plans: Personal is free for 3 devices, Solo costs 12 EUR per month for 50 devices. From Pro up, billing is per technician per month (24 EUR), with an unlimited number of devices. The device cap only applies to Personal and Solo.
