P2P connection

A P2P connection links two endpoints directly, with no intermediate server. Traffic takes the shortest path between the technician and the user.

Ubidesk establishes a direct P2P connection whenever the network allows it, over port 443. When the topology prevents it, the session automatically falls back to regional relays.

In practice

For the user the choice is invisible: P2P or relay, the stream stays end-to-end encrypted and no inbound port is required.
