Fake tech support

Fake tech support is a scam where an impostor poses as a technician — from Microsoft, a bank or an antivirus vendor — to extract money from a victim or access to their machine.

Ubidesk protects against these scams: a KYB-verified badge, a warning before any unsolicited session, automatic blurring of banking sites and password fields, and one-click reporting.

In practice

Real support never calls you out of the blue: if someone asks you to enter a session code you did not request, hang up.
